GOD SHAMMGOD:
Right Past You
This clip almost does Shammgod Justice. Did everyone check the new SLAM feature on him? Alan Paul, the writer, lives in china where his wife was transferred to work with the Wall Srteet Journal. He might very well be my favorite hoops writer of all time. Get the new issue with the SUNS trio on the cover.
2006-2007 ABA CHAMPION:
Vermont Frost Heaves
So I don't know how the ABA playoff boiled down, it's always something with that league. This year, the Vermond Frost Heaves took the title from the Texas Tycoons and captured the league title in their first season. Kevin Mickens, who played for my brother at George Mason, got a lot of minutes for Vermont this year. If you check on previous posts, you'll notice I saw them play twice this year. Hopefully, the few quality franchises that operate outside the D-League (Albany Patroons, Vermont Frost Heaves and the Rodchester RazorSharks) will step up into down low soon.
STREETBALL:
Almost That Time of Year Again
I have laced up my sneakers and donned shorts every day this week and I've been dissapointed. The courts are cold and there aren't ever enough guys shooting around to even play 2-on-2. Those in the shoort around are wear long pants and sleeves at that, so, no real game could even be played. I think of this cover ever time I think of playground ball. Booger Smith was something like a shooting star who missed his window to be great, or get his chance at being great. Maybe I'll throw some videos of Boogs doing his thing up a little later, but for now, use the cover as inspiration to pull your basketball kids from the trunk and wash your only shorts.

KENNY ANDERSON:
The King of Queens
Ben Osborne from SLAM has Mark Jackson, I guess I have Kenny Anderson. A natural lefty, who started out games going to his right hand, Kenny A could take anyone off the dribble. He reminds John Stockton of that right here. Too bad his talentless wife Tami, from Mtv THE REAL WORLD, took all his money. Hope we don't catch him playing in the USBL for the $250 dollars a week.
KOBE BRYANT:
MR.40/40, And I Ain't Talking Jose Canseco
With all the scoring Kobe has done lately, keeping the Lakers a valid team, it's time HoopsArchive pays him a little tribute. Seeing as Phil Jackson feels like the Lakers can gain enough momentum to carry themselves deep in the playoffs, it's nice to be reminded of Kobe at his best.
